Note the website URL. After completing the fix below, go back to that website in order to check that this is no longer a problem. Go to - Internet Explorer: Tools: Manage Add-ons. Click on Shockwave Flash Object (Adobe Systems Incorporated) Click the Disable Button Click OK Restart Internet Explorer, go to the copied URL and see if this fixed the problem. The common causes seem to be: 1) Adobe Shockwave (disable the add-on) 2) Google Desktop Search (uninstall it) 3) a conflict with Lotus Notes (???) If it's not one of those for you, try Start > All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). After assert lsp installing all the necessary updates from the last 3 years, I was current with my OS version (SP2). Only after doing this was I able to update my internet browser to IE9. And it is while using IE9 that I have been getting these error messages... iexplore.exe Assert in LSP g_socket_data.lookup(s) == 0 capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp.patches.cpp:1313 under which 3 options are offered... Abort assert lsp error ... Try Again ... Ignore ...I click 'Ignore' once, and the message returns. I click 'Ignore' a second time and it goes away for a bit. It seems to happen most often when I am checking my Yahoo! Mail inbox, though not only then.
