Assert in LSP error message Discussion in 'Virus & Other Malware Removal' started by grandmamusher, Jun 20, 2009. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement grandmamusher Thread Starter Joined: Jun 20, 2009 Messages: 1 Hello! I'm trying to find out what this means, and how to fix it. When I play Farm Town in Facebook, I always get this message: firefox.exe Assert in LSP g_socket_data.lookup(s)==0 capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches.cpo:1313 What does this mean? http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/assert-in-lsp-error-412346.html How can I fix this? I get three options, abort, retry, or ignore. If I click abort or ignore, I can usually play the game anyway. If I click retry, then firefox freezes up,shuts down, and reboots. Sometimes the abort or ignore buttons also cause a freeze up and reboot. grandmamusher PS: I have Windows XP. grandmamusher, Jun 20, 2009 #1 This thread has https://forums.techguy.org/threads/assert-in-lsp-error-message.836787/ been Locked and is not open to further replies. Both have same message: firefox.exe Assert in LSP g_socket_data.Lookup(s)==0 capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches.cpp:1313 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to the URL 2. Wait about 5-10 seconds while it renders everything. 3. Actual Results: Two separate error message windows pop up. I click 'ignore' and go on with my work. Expected Results: no assertion errors, ever. It has happened on other pages from same URL, such as when I click a link in this page. Does it also happen in safe-mode: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ? Comment 3 Stanley Sokolow 2009-05-15 06:34:24 PDT I tried again on a different computer, running Windows XP sp3 on a Pentium 4: no assertion errors on same URL. The computer that gets the 2 assertion errors, even in Safe Mode, is a Core 2 Duo running Vista Ultimate. I tried it on a Pentium Dual Core running Vista Home Premium -- no assertion errors.
