I am trying to use an If statement in Word to determine if a cell in Excel matches a variable ive set and if so insert that value into a selection in word. I can use the Set xsht = GetObject("O:\LogcapIII-ME\Construction\C-Sites Master Projects Log\C-Sites Master Projects Log.xls") to Set a variable to a workbook, and i can use TypeText Text:=xsht.Sheets("ACL Open").Cells(x, 4).Value to insert the cell value into my Word selection once the criteria have been met but I cant loop through the cells in Excel to compare there values to my variable. Ive tried many versions of the folowing If xsht.Sheets("ACL Open").Cells(x, 4).Value = st Then but havent gotten it right yet. What am i missing? Last edited by Cadcraft; Nov 25th, 2007 at 09:41 PM. Dim cvsApp As Object Set cvsApp = GetObject("CVSUP.cvsApplication") The above shows Automation error: Invalid Syntax with END and DEBUG buttons. Dim cvsApp As Object Set cvsApp = GetObject(, "CVSUP.cvsApplication") The above shows Run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?t=522103 object If I use Create Object like Dim cvsApp As Object Set cvsApp = CreateObject("CVSUP.cvsApplication") it works fine I don't want to use create object, I will manually login to AVAYA. What is the correct syntax? More info: I have imported and checked all requied references in Tools->References. They all are fine. If I right click on the .exe file of AVAYA software and click properties, I get the following info cvsAPP.exe Type of file: Application Description: cvsApplication Component Location: C:\Program Files\Avaya\CentreVu Supervisor 9.0 Register To Reply + Reply to Thread « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Thread Information Users Browsing this Thread There are currently 1 users browsing this thread. Before I have no problem connecting to SAP 730 using set sapguiauto=getobject("SAPGUI") but after our IT upgrade to sapgui for windows 740 I could not execute the code with Automation error and invalid syntax and I did a lot of research and testing and just could not find the solution. I am using these codes in every part of my running program in SAP 730 with no problems.Sub test() Dim App, Connection, session As Object Set sapguiauto = GetObject("SAPGUI") Set App = sapguiauto.GetScriptingEngine Set Connection = App.Children(0) Set session = Connection.Children(0)End SubWould really appreciate your help.
