We are starting automation error excel to see the error above quite a bit, and I can't seem to find a single rational explanation for it anywhere. Popup Blockers. Nope. We're not running them. Not even the built-in blocker. Trusted Zone. Nope. The application runs on LocalHost right now, and it's in the trusted sites list. Stray Cosmic Rays. Possible, but not probable. It's way too consistent. I did eventually find the error message buried on Microsoft's site in some dusty tome about retrieving automation error message information. In it, they were talking about Excel, and they said: "In this example, Microsoft Excel is the server application. Referencing a workbook object once it is destroyed (or closed) generates the error." That is probably as close as I've ever come to an explanation for the cause of the error, without a real, concrete explanation. Someone tried to use something after their reference to it was disposed of. Oddly, you can still see the windows on the screen. Curiously, however, this smacks suspiciously to me of the accepted a

DISCUSSION Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I have a vba script on a large excel vba automation error the object has disconnected from its client doc (50 sheets or so) that is organized by inputting a password which in turn hides or shows specific sheets relevant to the password. This is going to be a customer doc and rather than making a bunch http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3840066/js-the-callee-server-not-server-application-is-not-available-and-disappear of different spreadsheets I want to keep everything on one. Also, if you guys have any suggestions as to encrypting and securing this vba script that would be awesome, since I am new to this. Ok so the prob is I get this error when opening the doc: Run-time error '-214748105 (80010007)': Automation error The callee (server [not server application]) is not available and disappeared; all connections are invalid. The call https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/293019-vba-runtime-and-automation-errors-please-help may have executed. Then I click "debug" and it doesn't like this portion of the script If Me.TextBox1.Value = "amber" Then Unload Me Sheets("BZ-22").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-24").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-25").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-26").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-27").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-28").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-29").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-30").Visible = True Sheets("BZ-31").Visible = True Sheets("CC-24-25").Visible = True Else Me.Hide Retry = MsgBox("The password is incorrect. Please try again.", vbYesNo, "Retry") Select Case Retry Case Is = vbYes Me.TextBox1.Value = "" Me.TextBox1.SetFocus Me.Show Case Is = vbNo Unload Me End Select End If End Sub [The debugger highlights Me.Hide] Probably the weirdest thing about this is if I choose to "End" rather than "Debug" the script still works perfect. I am just annoyed that this error keeps showing and would like to get rid of it. The call may have been executed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a VB6 application that supports plugins. All the plugins (activex dll's) interface with the application through an activex dll. I get this error when the plugin tries to call a function in the application [through the plugin interfacing dll] On some rare occasions I dont get this error. Can automation error the this be fixed???? Thanks in advance! Is the Interface structure EXE > ActiveX DLL > DLL or is there some hooking singleton object (ActiveX EXE (namely Server type)) object in the mix ? Chubby.. The interfacing dll is partly implemented by the application exe and partly by the plugin dll. I get this error only while debugging the plugin and not while using the compiled version of the plugin. This is making debugging very difficult. Btw, both the interfacing dll & plugin dll are activex dll's Reply With Quote Sep 22nd, 2005,04:30 AM #4 Chubby View Profile View Forum Posts Hyperactive Member Join Date Dec 2004 Posts 308 Re: Automation Error Originally Posted by chand Not using Activex EXE anywhere.
