There may have been a recent update that is causing these issues. Turns out you need to un-register and re-register the mscomctl.ocx file. Symptom English error: Microsoft Visual Basic Automation error Unspecified error German error: Microsoft Visual Basic Automatisierungsfehler Unbekannter Fehler Resolving the problem Steps to resolve issue for Excel 2003: - Stop the "Tm1 Excel Service" service (if you also have TM1Web installed locally). - Open Excel - Click on the Help menu - Select Detect and Repair **Leave the first option checked, and the 2nd option unchecked** Once you've completed the above steps, close Excel and reboot your computer. Steps to resolve issue for Excel 2007: - Stop the "TM1 Excel Service" service (if you also have TM1Web installed locally). - Click the Microsoft Office Button - Click "Excel Options" - Click Resources - Click Diagnose - Click Continue - Click Run Diagnostics Once you've completed the above steps, close Excel and reboot your computer.
