To do this, follow these steps: 1. Open an administrative-level command prompt. The command prompt MUST be on the administrative level for this to work. Click START, and type RUN in the run command line. On Windows Vista and Windows 7 you will see CMD.EXE appear in the quick searchlist. Right click CMD.EXE and left click Run As Administrator. A black command prompt opens. On Windows XP, there is no built-in run-as-admin, but you can use the run as menu option (or runas command line) to execute an admin command from a Limited User Account. 2. If on a 64-bit machine, type the following: regsvr32.exe /u C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX Hit ENTER then type regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\SysWOW6

After installing updates since the beginning of 2016, my program doesn't work anymore. I use a program to write reports that has an add in I use in Word. After installing the updates, I get the error message and the program doesn't work. The company no longer supports the program but told me to delete the updates since beginning 2016. I tried uninstalling and they came right back. Finally figured out how to stop them from downloading but they are already downloaded and I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I tried a system restore but there wasn't one far enough back. Also tried a backup restore but they are still there. Last straw I uninstalled Office as well as my report program. After relentless efforts to install again, the problem still exists and so do the updates. There was a similar issue in 2012 but no up to date help. Can anyone help me please?
