Tried to look for a similar case as mine, but I couldn't find any threads. So, this is my problem. I'm using MSOffice 365 version 2016 together with MSProject 2010. The following code is in an Excel macro. " Dim aTaskList As Tasks Dim aWorksheet As Worksheet Set aWorksheet = Workbooks("SRLog_template.xlsx").Worksheets(1) ' This works fine aWorksheet.Cells(3, 2) = ActiveProject.StatusDate ' This doesn't ! Set aTaskList = ActiveProject.Tasks " When I run this macro everything is ok until the last codeline, where I get: Runtime error -2147319779 (8002801d) Automation error Library not registered Anyone helping me?? I have narrowed my problem down to this: Code: Sub Tester() Dim MyDialog As FileDialog Set MyDialog = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogSaveAs) End Sub When I execute this code with a workbook open (like the default Book1), this works fine. If I close all workbooks and execute this code, then I get the following error: Automation error Exception occurred. Then the windows error reporting system chimes in with "Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close." and the application closes. I can post the details of the error report if it would help, but otherwise I'll spare you. The error does not occur with the other three types of file dialog (FilePicker, FolderPicker, Open). I want to use this as part of a larger macro that will create a new workbook with certain parameters that I specify, and I need the SaveAs dialog to be able to create a new file. I'd like i

The error produced says 'Automation Error Exception Occurred'. If I place a stop in the code and hold the F8 key down, the code runs perfectly (Excel 2013) but if I run it, it will crash. The code is copying a worksheet automation error exception into a new workbook, adding 2 more worksheets, saving then emailing the workbook before closing. It goes through the routine about 7 times before crashing (sending only 7 email out). It's something to do with the email because I can bypass that code and it runs that part without a problem. Our office just upgraded all the computers to Office 2013 and I've got to get this macro running again. I had to email 100 reports one-by-one today and I didn't like it. I can put code up if anyone thinks it might help. But like I said the code works if I step through it. I have seen automation errors before and they can be rather insidious to diagnose. It can be very specific to your configuration. I have moved from 2010 to 2013 and have not experienced what you describe. You might want to check the libraries you have referenced. You may have to re-reference the Outlook library if you are using Outlook to send the email. The worst automation error I

I hope this will work for you. Feb 27 '13 #2 reply Expert Mod 2.5K+ P: 4,994 zmbd It is my understanding, from reading thru some of the other sites and from Microsoft that VISIO 2010 broke your installation of Office 2007. VISIO installs the new ACE 14.0 database engine and the newer version 14 libraries. Also from what I've read, you should be able to use the "Repair" option within Office-2007 to get your old office up and running again. The KICK-In-The-TEETH is going to happen when you re-start VISIO-2010 in that it will either fail or re-register the new versions of the libraries and ACE. You have three options from what I've seen:Try to run the VISIO within a virtual machine Repair the Office installation every time Upgrade Office to 2010 If you Opt for the upgrade path.... backup all of your old projects. REPAIR the Office2007 installation. Uninstall the VISIO 2010 REPAIR Office2007 installation Uninstall the Office 2007. Install the VISIO 2010 Install the Office 2010. In the future, don't mix revision levels of Microsoft Office and related software. There is one other option I am hesitant to suggest... when you purchsed VISIO2010 you also received a limited time Technical Help Support contract with M.S. - Call them and ask if the following will help: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;2512789 Feb 27 '13 #3 reply Message Cancel Changes Post your reply Join Now >> Sign in to post your reply or Sign up for a free account.
