We updated navigation in locked regions of our templates on computer 1 then downloaded the updated template on computer 2 to update pages locally from the newly uploaded templates. For some reason when saving the template on computer 2 dreamweaver fails to launch the dialog box which asks if you want to update the associated pages. Also, when looking at the template on machine 2 the editable regions are not highlighted and outlined as normal. HTML Code for the template is fine. Called support and they suggested we recreate preferences but I can not find info in the forum to do so. Any ideas????Thanks! Solved Dreamweaver CS 5.5 Template not updating child pages Posted on 2012-07-03 Adobe Dreamweaver HTML 1 Verified Solution 22 Comments 1,152 Views Last Modified: 2012-07-13 Hi, I'm trying to help a customer with a template she's been working on. She uploaded the changes she made to the template, but the template will not update the child pages. I have tried to open and update the template, but when I save it, it doesn't ask if I want to update the child pages. So, I went to one of the child pages and went to Modify > Templates > Update current page. Then it gives me an error message that says, "Error accessing file "Y:\Templates\ENRMD.dwt": file not found (error code 2). I had the girl who works with the site open the template on her local copy and go to Modify > Update Pages > Files That Use, it's empty. No templates show up. I have no idea what's going on because the file is there. You can see it in dreamweaver, in the Templates folder. Any ideas??? 0 Question by:savache27 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 70 Active 2 days ago Best Solution byJason C. Levine If "root" has a site definition of its own, then yes...you will have issues because the other site definitions are nested within root and the caches will be in conflict. DW should be outputting all sorts Go to Solution 22 Comments LVL 16 Overall: Level 16 HTML 9 Adobe Dreamweaver 6 Message Expert Comment by:rbudj2012-07-03 First make sure that the changes within the template are actually being made OUTSIDE of an editable region. This is one common mistake. Next, try opening the template, File > Save as a Template, and save it with a different name. Duplicate the current template for safety and then rename it to ENRMD_old.dwt and choose not to update the child pages with the name change. Now rename the template you just saved as ENRMD.dwt. 0 LVL 70 Overall: Level 70 Adobe Dreamweaver 44 HTML 23 Message Active 2 days ago Expert Comment by:Jason C.
