He was unable to connect to the internet and then the blue screen started popping up every time you try and open a browser window. It can start in Safe Mode but I have not found a solution that works online - just a lot of information on drivers. He is not very computer savvie and I noticed some stuff on the computer such as Crawler tool bar - just wondering could it be a virus causing the issue?
