It happens to me everytime I try to load the game. I've read the other posts here about changing the refresh rate so I went from 60 to 75, without any change. I also ran the compatability test, ran it as administrator, http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr-bf2-support/75376-black-screen-then-crash-fixed.html ran in XP Service Package 3 mode, and still no luck. What happens is I start it up as an administrator, the PR load screen comes up, followed by the BF2 load screen, and then the screen goes black. It turns a lighter black, flashes the desktop, goes back to a dark black, lighter black, and then a dark black before crashing to windows without an error message. I managed to run Task Manager just before it started once and found that both BF2 and PR were running, I'm sure this is normal but I thought I'd mention it since when I used to play PR in .87 there was never a BF2 loading screen. PLEASE HELP! I just want to play this awesum game! So I found another solution. 2 black screen Make sure that in ALL of your video.con files, the resolution and refresh rate are the same. That includes the one(s) in Steam>steamapps>common>Battlefield 2>profiles>Local AND the ones in Documents>Battlefield 2> Profiles>0001,0002,Default,etc. In those files, it says setResolution, just make sure they're the same. And as usual, make sure the Steam Overlay is off. I'm not sure how many of you have the same problem, but that was MY stupid mistake. < > Showing 1-15 of 20 comments Wan Domo View Profile View Posts Nov 26, 2012 @ 6:20pm I have a windows vista 32-bit and it does the same thing, does this help for me to or not? #1 ForAStifferNick View Profile View Posts Nov 26, 2012 @ 7:20pm I don't know, I guess you can try it. There are a LOT of problems running this game on modern computers, so if this doesn't work, Google's your friend. I suppose this solution is always useful, since the reolutions ALWAYS has to be the same between files, regardless of OS. #2 PornHub.com/VoxelSpooks View Profile View Posts Nov 30, 2012 @ 12:44am Huge thanks for posting this it worked perfectly #3 Valtari View Profile View Posts Aug 8, 2013 @ 6:45pm Originally posted by

Not only does it restart, but sometimes it wouldn't even restart/load the OS. I had to turn off and turn on 5 t
