If so, one should download the latest video drivers from the official manufacturer's website and install them while in safe mode. The other option is to inspect the BIOS settings and see the status of PCI bus frequency and PCIe Frequency. The problem with PCI/e bus often arises with overclocking and the user black screen error should be aware of these types of issues. Issue Solution Issue I am using Windows 7 on my laptop. I have been experiencing a Blank/black screen after logging on. I've attempted the below solution: Taskmgr.exe - ordinal not found The ordinal 18 could not be located in the dynamic link library SHELL32.dll ccSvcHst.exe - Application error The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occured in the application at location 0x76429617. Run DLL There was a problem starting shell32.dll The operating system cannont run %1.
