the drive. To do so on Windows: Click Start > (My) Computer Locate the hard drive Steam is installed on. By default, this is C: Right-click this drive and select Properties. Click the Tools tab. In the Error-checking category, click Check now... In the dialog that appears, check "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors." Click Start. If you are scanning the C: drive, you will be asked to schedule the disk check the next time you start Windows. Accept, restart your computer, and allow the disk check to start—do not press any keys to skip the disk check. Allow the disk check to complete. This process may take up to several hours, depending on the size of your hard drive and the number of errors. Once your hard drive has been checked, verify the integrity of the game cache Please see Verify Game Cache Files (GCF) for instructions. If you are still seeing this error, move your Steam installation. It was doing an update the other day but suddenly stopped saying it was paused because of a disk read error, even though it also says it's downloaded 73.3MB/73.3MB. I'm guessing it won't install or something but why? It's always updated fine in the past and since then, I've restarted both Steam and my PC, but it still says 'Disk Read Error' and stops everytime I try to download it. < > Showing 1-5 of 5 comments Doctor Hue View Profile View Posts Nov 5, 2015 @ 10:14am Check your Steam/steamapps/common folder, do you see blank file there? I borderlands 2 have searched the other topics and I am yet to find a solution. This is also posted on the official forums and I have asked for tech support, but I need my BL2 fix now! :)Quick History:- 5 Year Old Xbox, BL2 installed to HDD and have over 50gb space on it- Been playing Borderlands completely fine for the past month- Downloaded the compatibility packs as they borderlands 2 add came out, no problem- Was playing it for a large amount of time yesterday, no problems- Purchased the season pass and downloaded Captain Scarlett DLC- After downloading, couldn't get past the "Checking download" screen on the title- Checked disc, nothing wrong with it (has gone from sealed box to Xbox and not been removed for a month)- Deleted cache, still getting error at title screen- Deleted compatibility packs, still getting error at title screen- Uninstalled BL2 from HDD, still getting error at title screen- Reinstalled it to HDD, still getting error at title screen- Deleted Captain Scarlett DLC, still getting error, but it is now during the loading screen for getting into the game- Deleted cache, compatibility packs, Disc unreadable during loading screen- Tried two old games (~5 years old on release date) and two new games (~1- 2months old) they play completely fine, so can pretty much rule out Hardware problem.I have left the Xbox for a day, and tried again this morning- Redownloaded the compatibility pack, getting error at title screen- Cache cleared, DLC not present, disc is fine, all other games play fineAny suggestions? Seem to be really stuck here : /User Info: SUGARASHADSUGARASHAD 4 year
