even though the original disk was pretty scratched up, and went direct to ImgBrn as movie needed no compression. Got a verify error but backup played OK. I wonder what's up with the verify error. LIGHTNING http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-127161.html UK!20th June 2007, 14:05It just means the drive couldn't read that specific sector or whatever. That's not to say another drive won't be able to. So long as you're using a decent burner, up-to-date firmware and decent discs, you http://www.t10.org/lists/asc-alph.txt really can't do any more. TomBrooklyn20th June 2007, 19:17Hi Lightning. How goes it? I'm liking ImgBrn. Thanks. I'm glad the disk is working good and not a coaster. It just seemed curious that it works but had a verify c =media error. Usually when I had a verify error the disk was no good. Is it possible there might be a slight bad spot on the disk that is just not showing up as anything big? I actually ran through the viewing in high speed so I might have missed a glitch. At least I know it plays the whole disk though. LoRd_MuldeR20th June 2007, 20:27I actually encountered the same with ImgBurn: ImgBurn found dozens of errors during verify, but c =media miscompare the disc was actually 100% okay for playback. Also verification never found any error with other burning programs... blutach21st June 2007, 00:30@TomBrooklyn, You might have verify errors in just a few sectors. A high speed playback will inevitably miss this (and so might a playback at regular speed). @Lord_Mulder Your drive might be on the way out. If there were dozens of errors, it should be noticeable on playback. Have you done a read in DVDInfoPro/Nero CD Speed? @both - logs would be good to see. Regards DaChew21st June 2007, 03:10a disk that plays means little, plays now in a good player, fine, what about about an iffy player? What about in a few months or years after a little abuse. Even a disk that verifies in a good reading drive may not in a poorer/pickier drive. too many variables and no absolutes LoRd_MuldeR22nd June 2007, 14:51@Lord_Mulder Your drive might be on the way out.
