have fixed the problem.A problem I've been having with both CoD4 and MW2.The audio seems to get worse every second I play, in this example I played 10 minutes.Explosions and low frequency sounds seem to affect this in a negative way.It also causes severe framerate loss (500+ to 10)and network issues for the whole computer, making me reset my connection. This lag not only lags the audio, but also slow

the audio down (making it a longer sound). The more time spent in Windows, the less the lag becomes.Graphics card: GeForce 285 GTXIf anyone knows something I can do to fix this, please tell me.There are people on the internet who had the same problem, they remained unhelped with the comment to turn the front panel jack detection off, which does nothing. In this video I lose my host status and get booted out.The menu sounds are messed up, as you may hear. Then I exit to windows to show you the windows bells which are also affected. The clip afterwards shows you the massive framerate loss and shows us that the sound recorded by fraps is perfect. After it does this however I notice a drop of FPS. I'd http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/951942-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2/55048922 estimate it as a drop from 60 FPS to around 30 or so. It's significant enough that it's harder to aim and there is a noticeable lag. Opening task manager I see that audiodg.exe seems to be the cause of this since it starts using more resources and the CPU usage fluctuates up to 5-10%. User Info: petrzala85 petrzala85 - 7 years ago Clarification Request:: What have you done so far to try to solve this problem? Did you check your game call of duty audio settings? User Info: Albertthefatcat Albertthefatcat - 7 years ago Answers Try your game audio settings. If not, try your console audio settings. If still no, try your TV audio settings. If none of that works, consult Microsoft customer service or return your console.....or copy of Modern Warfare 2.Also check for scratches on your disk, that might be the problem. If it is, you can easily clean it. User Info: wongerman wongerman (Expert) - 7 years ago 0 0 This question was asked more than 60 days ago with no accepted answer. The single player mode works perfectly, but when I try to run COD4 Multiplayer it crashes on startup. Windows then shows the following error message: iw3mp.exe has stopped working. What can I do to fix this? Disclaimer: I’ve made this thread to collect the various solutions to this problem that are scattered across the interwebs. Please add an answer if you have an alternative solution! All the solutions posted below have apparently fixed the problem for many people, but not for me — so I’m still looking for a solution to play CoD4 on my new gaming PC. technical-issues modern-warfare share|improve this question edited May 30 '13 at 14:25 user9983 asked Mar 12 '13 at 9:40 Mathias Bynens 2211715 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote This is a very common problem due to sloppy programming on Activision’s part. It is related to the system’s audio device, e.g. a problem with your sound card drivers, mostly if it is a Realtek or a Sigmatel onboard sound card. Here are some things you can try: Enable Stereo Mix Right-click the volume/speaker icon in your system tray, and select Recording devices. (If you don’t have the icon in your system tray, open Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Sound → Recording.) Right-click and select View Disabled Devices. The device Stereo Mix appears. Enable the Stereo Mix device. Start the game. If that doesn’t solve the issue, try the next suggestion. Use a mic & headphones Plug in a microphone into the microphone jack. Plug in headphones into the headphone jack. Right-click the volume/speaker icon in your system tray, and select Recording devices. (If you
