After attempting to install United Offensive, I ran into a problem: immediately after loading the game goes black and I get an error message saying things like "Buffer Overrun" and that the app cannot safely continue running and must terminate. Stuff like that. Naturally, I looked all over the world of Google, and found a few other poor souls with my same issue. However, all of them have had troubles running both CoD 1 and United Offensive. For me, the first game worked just fine. People also seemed to have many different answers. Some said it was about drivers, but I

I'm having problem with old https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/527273983049576358/ Call of Duty games.. Those are the original CoD, CoD: United Offensive and Call of Duty 2.. The problem is Single Player won't start while Multiplayer works fine... What could be the problem? I tried everything.. I'm running on Win10 but that shouldn't be the problem since MP works fine.. I played CoD:2 like year ago on Win7 just fine... Also to mention CoD4:MW and onwards all work fineHere is link to video what happens when I try to start it https://fliiby.com/file/hz6c7qm6pzm/ Last edited by A csgofarming.com | rewards.gg; Sep 1, 2015 @ 5:11am < > Showing 1-8 of 8 comments btk1873 View Profile View Posts Sep 15, 2015 @ 11:42am I am having the same problem. Not open for further replies. dlf Guest A few weeks ago I bought the Call of Duty: War Chest (COD 1, 2, United Offensive). From Steam, both 1 and 2 play fine on this slimline and an 11" ACER laptop but on this slimline EVERY time http://www.thessdreview.com/forums/threads/call-of-duty-united-offensive-unplayable-unlocalized.2096/ I boot up UO I get errors I've tried English (native language), French and Italian, not one works. On the laptop it always crashes so I can't even boot up. My specs: Motherboard: Asus A8N-BR (Pyrite) (1 PCI, 2 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN, http://www.qtracker.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=2283 IEEE-1394) Motherboard Chipset - nVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE, AMD Hammer Power Supply: No idea Processor: DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3800+ OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit This is an example of why I want to be able call of to use XP on my next system (see my other thread). dlf, Apr 16, 2012 #1 OS-Wiz Guest If UO is a 32-bit game, it'll play on Win7 x32. The problem is elsewhere. You might try un-installing and re-installing the game. OS-Wiz, Apr 17, 2012 #2 Hameister Guest I own COD2, and it runs just fine on Win7 32bit. I haven't tried it on Win7 64bit, but I suspect it would run there as well. I really think what you are trying to do, just isn't feasible. call of duty XP was a very good OS, but the operative word here is "was". We've all had to face that moment when moving to a newer OS was no longer a choice, but a necessity, if we were to maintain a viable modern machine.Moving from DOS 6.22 to Windows 3.11, then Win95, 98, XP and so on, all required sacrificing some favorite software. It's nearly impossible to hold onto the past in this hobby of ours. In fact, many folks, including me, stayed with Win7 32bit longer than we should have, because a few pieces of software just wouldn't play well with the 64bit version. Still the break had to be made. Win7 64bit is a fantastic OS. I suggest you give thought to adopting it for your new rig. Use compatibility modes when you can, and use an emulator if necessary, but break away from XP. You'll have to do it sooner or later. If you don't do it now, you're just putting off the inevitable. By the way, what is a "slimline". Hameister, Apr 17, 2012 #3 dlf Guest I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling half a dozen (or more) times. The steam page of the game says "System Requirements Minimum: Full Version of original Call of Duty, 3D hardware accelerator card required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 32MB hardware T&L-capable video card and the latest drivers*, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, Pentium III 800MHz or Athlon 800MHz processor or higher, 128MB RAM (256MB Recommended), 1150MB of uncompressed free hard disk space (plus 600MB for Windows 2000/XP swap file), 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 16

I have all of the Call of Duty games on Steam. But when I try to launch a game using QTracker, I always get the "Steam.exe not found" error. I know with Quake 3 you had to put in a certain applaunch command line, is there anyway to do this with CoD or UO?Thanks! Right-click on the shortcut that's created on your desktop and choose "Properties". You'll want to copy and paste this into Qtracker, removing the "'s. Make certain to update the Start-in path as well. This is updated by right-clicking on the game in Qtracker and selecting "Specify install location of this program...".I hope this helps.
