I have had WHS running the server is not available. try connecting this computer again for about a year now. Within the last week, the connector on my Dell Laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium, stopped working. There is nothing to relate this to unless cannot connect this computer to the network the server is not available there was an automatic update on the server or the laptop that has caused a conflict. I did roll the laptop back a few days, but that didn't affect anything. The WHS has been running PP3since November, so it's not any of the PP3 time issues. I uninstalled Connector on the laptop. Windows Server Essentials Connector The Server Is Not Available
Server Connector Software Folder I first tried running "setup.exe" to reinstall the Connector. This results in the need to enter the Server password which is then rejected as being invalid; to verify, I it changed it on the server and tried again with the same result. Next I tried to install the connector by running WHSConnectorInstall.exe from the Home Server Connector source. When I do this, I get the Windows error message: “An error occurred. This operations cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later. If the problem persists...” I did uninstall the connector using the registry and deleting all the relevant directories in Program Files and Program Files (x86), then tried both of the above installation methods again, with the same failed results. I've also looked at similar problems others have had (system time, firewall-configuration, anti-virus, user name resolution), but except for the system time thing, not much that seems just related to Windows 7 or at least no solutions that fixed my problem. I also did the connector troubleshooting: //server:55000/enrollid/id.xml re

My Home Server server is up and running and working perfectly with my main PC (which has the Connector installed). Now I'm trying to install the Connector on subsequent PCs with no luck. On the client PCs, I run the cannot connect to Connector installer. An error occurs after being prompted to enter my WHS password: This operation cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact Product Support. At this point, my only option is to back out of the Connector installer. This is the details of the event in the Event Log: Server ID is not set yet. On the client it means that the server discovery (discovery.exe) was not run or was not run successfully. I have tried getting the Connector working of a variety of machines now, so I don't believe that the error exists on the client end.
