Configuring the PC with an entry in the local hosts file will confirm that this is the issue.CheersStuart 1357-262730-1451085 Back to top Sathya T Members #3 Sathiyamoorthi Thangasamy 66 posts Posted 11 April 2010 - 04:37 AM Hi Stuart,Thanks for your replay. As per the KB I entered the Host entry already. The Citrix SSL relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40) Started by John Rehill , 07 February 2011 - 11:19 PM Login to Reply 6 http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/262730-citrix-ssl-relay-name-could-not-be-resolvedssl-error-40/ replies to this topic John Rehill Members #1 John Rehill 13 posts Posted 07 February 2011 - 11:19 PM Hey all,Brand new to the whole citrix setup so please excuse my ignorance with the whole subject.I have XenApp 5 FP 3 setup and a farm running that is only publishing apps not a whole desktop.I access the farm using the Citrix Secure Gateway 3.2.On my internal network everything is running http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/281804-the-citrix-ssl-relay-name-could-not-be-resolved-ssl-error-40/ fine. I have the certs published for my servers and clients can access them no problem and launch the applications. Users access the CSG WI using the name server.FQDN address. However I've now been asked to allow external users access via the internet. No something I want to do but decision made. With one site I've gotten our network admin to enable a NAT rule so any traffic directed from a static IP will be allowed access to the CSG thinking that this would do the job. The site address they use will be citrix.my.company.name. This address is pointing to the SGs IP.When I access the site I get the WI prompt, can login and see the apps that the user is allowed to use however when I try to launch one, I get an error "The Citrix SSL relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40)".From what I've seen on the forums this is a simple DNS issue however I'm unsure how to resolve since I'm dealing with an external site access to an internal setup.Since I'm dealing with external access, adding my host names with their FQDN and IP won't seem to resolve it as the access rule won't translate this. Do I

SSL error 40 when client v12.1 installed Started by Jon Shelton , 30 November 2010 - 03:23 PM Login to Reply 3 replies to this topic Jon Shelton Members #1 Jon Shelton 2 posts Posted 30 November 2010 - 03:23 cannot connect to PM I have rolled out a new client to our users - Online Plugin - Web v12.1.After doing this, certain users started to get the following error:Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. The Citrix SSL Relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40)On further investigation it turns out that they could not resolve the public name of the CSG server, this was because they did not have DNS forwarding set up correctly to resolve it via the public DNS.*The question is* Why is this required only when the client is updated to v12.1?What has changed in the way the client works? They previously had v10 client, with the same DNS setup - and it worked with no problemsNothing else has changed, the CSG is the same, web interface the same, XenApp servers the same etc.Any suggestions gratefu

From behind a FW with port 80 + 443 open in and out - I get:'The Citrix SSL Relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40)'when I hit a pub app icon.I'm not using SSL Relay. On the MSAM site I have the Website Viewer installed. This is unable to retrieve the desired website when I log on from behind the Firewall (don't know if this is related - but seems strange).I retrieved the *.ica file that is passed to the local client when you invoke an app. They are the same. I thought I might find something like: ClientProxy=AutoBut it was my understanding that the Gateway Client sorted that for you.....?Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. 1336-51395-223426 Back to top JEFF PITSCH Members #2 JEFF PITSCH 7,670 posts Posted 25 May 2004 - 11:59 PM Sounds like DNS name resolution issues.
