Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to restart" I did some searching but still couldn't get it to work. I am using Windows Vista with Ubuntu installed (not on a separate partition, but "within" windows) I solved the problem by using Shadow Explorer (to access Vista's shadow copies, for windows 7, see note below) I copied the most recent versions of 'wubildr' and 'wubildr.mbr' to my flash drive and rebooted (leaving the flash drive plugged in) It booted up just fine, not sure why it works , my best guess is the 'wubildr' and 'wubildr.mbr' files were corrupted on my hard drive. Not a permanent solution, but if it works, I am not going to complain. Note: If you are using windows 7, simply right click on 'wubildr' and 'wubildr.mbr' (separately) and select properties. Under the 'Previous Versions' tab select a previous version and click 'open', then copy the files to a flash drive. Started out originally with 8.04, and gradually upgraded to 10.04. Recently, I was creating linux bootable USB drive, and put it in my system to see if it would work. After booting the LiveOS, and rebooting my machine, I know get the error Cannot find grldr in all devices when booting Ubuntu. cannot find grldr I don't know what grldr is, but I assume it is the GRUB Loader. Did booting the LiveOS screw with my MBR perhaps? How can I fix this, and if not, is it possible to reinstall wubi, without losing anything of what I have now? linux ubuntu grub wubi grub2 share|improve this question asked Sep 17 '10 at 22:11 blockhead 1819 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote This is my problem too and it is completely new for me. Reinstalling doesn't make any sense, the problem remains. When I installed Ubuntu on my external hard drive I got the same problem, but then I copied wubildr wubildr.mbr to my external hard drive and then Ubuntu worked. But with these files on my local hard drive, the problem persists. share|improve this answer answered Sep 19 '10 at 13:54 Frank Riezebos 1 add a comment| You must log in to answer this question. failing to load with error messages: Try(hd0,0):NTFS5:No wubildr (hd0,1) (hd0,2) (hd9,3) Error: cannot find GRLDR in all devices Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart I'm a fairly low tech Ubuntu user. Able to use a menu or follow directions when I know what the words mean, but don't know where to find a terminal or what to do with a command line. I did manage to download the 11.04 iso and burn it to a CD. I don't have many personal files on Ubuntu as I run a dual boot with Windows 7(64bit ), so my inclination is to re-install Ubuntu 11.04 from the CD, unless someone can suggest something else to try.
