Notes Technote (FAQ) Question When you attempt to forward mail in Notes, the following error occurs: "Cannot locate default form" Answer This error indicates that your mail database does not have a designated default form. To set a default form in Notes, follows these steps: 1. When viewing the design of the form in Domino http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSKTWP_8.5.3/com.ibm.notes85.client.doc/err_cannot_locate_default_form_r.html Designer, open the design that you wish to make the default form. 2. In the form, select Design -> Form Properties. 3. On the Form Info tab of the Form Properties dialog box, select the "Default database form" option. In Notes 4.x, this option is on the http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21112919 Defaults tab of the Form Properties dialog box. Supporting Information: In one case, the error "Cannot locate default form" was displayed when using Mail Send to Microsoft Office or when clicking a MailTo link from Internet Explorer. No default form was set. The following errors may be displayed as well: "Special Database object cannot be located." "Cannot execute the specified command." It seems that when your archive function has created the archive replica database it did not take across all of the design elements. I've seen this with some of my users.The fix for me was to replace the design on the archive database.File > datbase > replace design.Choose the same template as the mail file.If you are unsure about this, then you might want to make a copy of the archive and test it on that first.
