(Interestingly, I didn't notice the problem with the initial upgrade to NIS 2010, only when I received version 17.5.0.127). I'm running Windows XP SP3. I'm not the only one who gets this, as many previous posts show. My daughter is also getting this message now on her laptop (also XP SP3) with the same version of NIS 2010. Her laptop is a different make and is running different apps to my 7-year old tower pc, so please don't tell me it's the configuration. As this issue has come up so many times in the past, does anyone (especially at Symantec, please!) actually know how to fix the problem - or is it like the Ancient Mariner (doomed to roam through cyberspace for evermore)? Many thanks. The ccsvchst.exe error On going through the Internet, I found that one of the most known errors is the ccsvchst.exe application error. The ccsvchst.exe application error actually occurs during the ccsvchst error shutdown of the system and the system startup. Sometimes this file takes up a lot of CPU usage and I experienced this while working on the computer. Another cause for the ccsvchst error is the presence of a bug in the Norton products, such as Norton 2007. In the latest Norton version, there are options for debugging the error. To ccsvchst error 2009 get Norton products free from the bug, you have to run the Live Update utility. Doing this, I was able to install the latest patches for my Norton product and get rid of the error. In case, your Norton product is already updated. You can get it uninstalled by using the Windows tool “Add or Remove Programs”. The steps you need to follow are: Go to Start and select Control Panel Hit the Performance and Maintenance link and then go on to select Add or Remove Programs Choose your Norton product from the Currently Installed Programs list and then go for the Remove option Continue the process for all the Norton products and then restart your computer After running the Remove option, I got a RegCure scan done, as this ensured that there are no leftover entries in the registry. If there are, remove them to have complete un-installation. Reinstall your Norton product after you are done with all these actions. If there is no Norton product installed on your computer and you are still experiencing a ccsv
