Over the last 6 bmw 6 cd changer months, I would get CD ERROR when trying to play a CD. Pop the magazine out and push back in; all is well again. This would happen about once a month. Now I simply get NO DISK when trying to play CD's. Any idea's? Replace magazine? Replace entire changer? I've tried unplugging it with no change. The car is 66k on it. If unit replacement is in order, then I have no problem switching to iPod setup. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Last edited bmw cd changer aux input by mikeg299; 01-29-2009 at 10:22 PM. Many cd players have this issue, when burning a cd, burn at a slow speed, 8x or less, and don't buy the cheapest CD-R's, it really dose make a difference. my car is a 97 with 209k

The display reads "no disc" after the initial CD seek. I have removed all the CDs and the caddy and moved the disc order but still it is the same. I notice that although I can hear a motor whirring in the changer, the drawers are not actually opening (this used to happen as it checked each disc) Is there something I could try by stripping this down? Perhaps a gear or part has slipped or jammed? Also, is it easy to remove the changer from a Cabriolet? it looks like there is a lot of boot lining to remove first? Any thoughts on what the problem might be? The BMW Business head unit reports "No Discs" when the caddy is full, and "No Magazine" if the magazine is not inserted, so I assume the feedback from the CD player to the head unit is working ok. On insertion of the magazine loaded with CDs, it makes a short noise six times as if registering the discs, but then the "No Discs" message appears on the head unit (the discs are the right way up). There are two cables connected to the unit, one for power and the other apparently for output of music and other feedback. There is also a third connector that looks a bit like a TV aerial connector, but I
