Ok... after researching this on multiple forums and useless googling, I finally figured out how to fix it. After how to fix cd changer error trying a turn on the key, shut and open a door and click your heels method, (although I actually thought GM may be that bad at coding resets)... I tried the fuse pull. For anyone wanting to know (no Owner's Manual + nothing on internet = no idea where it's at) the fuse is located on the passenger side floorboard connected to the center console. After easily removing this panel, I pulled the fuse. I have read pulling it for

4-5min will reset, but I also read that it may cause it to be locked. So, I only did it for no more than 15 sec or so. Put it back in. It checked all the cd slots and it was good to go! I figured for anyone else in my predicament may find this useful instead of spending hours poring over useless info. So you know. It was -24 here. Battery died. Jumped, CD changer went crazy sounding like it was switching cd's as fast as it could. I thought it had been fried because it would no longer do that after it did it a few times. I tried to eject, said no disc. Would not load discs, would not play discs, but would play radio. It said "CD CHANGE ERROR" across the screen. It seems to be working fine now, so if you have a similar problem, give it a go. Just so you know, I had the keys out of the ignition when I removed the fuse, and put it back in with car in ACC mode. If anyone else has the problem I hope this works for you! 2006 G6 GT Coupe Black 1987 Grand National (For Sale!!!) Hello Customer,Sometimes when a battery is disconnected or connected, A voltage http://www.justanswer.com/chevy/3769r-2005-chevy-equinox-disc-cd-changer-battery.html spike can occur in the radio and cause this. Try disconnecting both battery cables and touch the 2 disconnected ends together for a few seconds. That sometimes resets the radio and gets it working again. If not, the radio would need to be replaced. They did make a change to the radio in order to help prevent this from happening. If anyone can help to bypass this I would really appreciate it. Update: The disconnecting of the battery is what caused the error. We have also tried removing the fuse to the radio and then putting it back in. That didn't work either. 1 following 2 answers 2 Report Abuse Are you sure you want to delete this answer?
