you how to attack the Mitsubishi made Chrysler CD/cassette combination player to both increase CDR compatibility, and also repair the most common problems with these. Before I get started, it should be mentioned that not all of these are created the same – some of them are put together differently. While these are modular, with CD or tuner modules that will interchange with dodge cd changer other similar models to some degree, I cannot promise full compatibility. In this post, I'm going to deal exclusively with the older style combo decks, which seems to include the majority of them. I don't have one of the newer ones here to show you the difference in construction, but those newer ones don't suffer as badly from CD alignment issues or the other problems these often face. Above, we see my parts deck in all its dead splendor. I can't show you the repair it would take to bring this one back to life, yours truly killed the power supply, but it'll do for this guide. To begin, remove the fader knob, EQ knobs, and volume knob by pulling them straight off. Then, remove the four screws on the sides of the faceplate and pull off the faceplate. There are two screws holding on the top cover – if you plan on working on the CD module, you might as well remove those now. You should now be seeing something like the above picture. With the faceplate off, we can now repair two of the more common

Is it possible to actually look inside to see if dust is the problem? -Matt- __________________ #3 01-24-2005, 11:32 PM 01 TC LXI Garage is empty, add now Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 6 RE: CD Player "err" My wife's 2001 LXI has the same stereo set-up. The CD changer hasn't worked from day 1. Took it in to be looked at. . . . . a BUNCH of http://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/chrysler-voyager-town-country-21/cd-player-%22err%22-106/ coins had been inserted into the unit. I thought it had been my kids. It wasn't. We bought the van from a lot, locally, on Nov. 15th. Apparently, either the previous owner's kids were the 'perps' or, most probably, kids getting in the van at the dealer's. We never tested the CD player when we test drove the van. After going around and around with the dealer, they finally agreed to look at the problem. (I had bought two [2] vehicles on the same day.) I told them I would bring them both back. They laughed. I told them that I would be laughing when I parked the van and the truck in the owner's office! The unit is being fixed. I will post more when it is re-installed. #4 04-22-2005, 12:19 AM 01 TC LXI Garage is empty, add now Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 6 RE: CD Player "err" Update on stereo. . . . . CD Changer repaired and reinstalled. No cost. Fast forward to April 02, 2005. Stereo quit. Nada. Nothing. Took the T&C back to dealer. Dealer says that the stereo isn't covered under the 'Extended Service Plan." My question to them. . . ."Extended Service Plan covers everything - Bumper to bumper. (Their words at time of sale.) The stereo is between the two bumpers. Why is it NOT covered?" Not quite the bottom line. Stereo is fixed (again.) $245.00 out of my pocket. Next to the bottom line. This van and a Ford Truck w

Keith Ky Did you ever get a solution to the flashing light problem? I now have it on my 2000 300M. Bob CSEGURA02-15-2009, 09:41 AMDid you ever get a solution to the flashing light problem? I now have it on my 2000 300M. Bob I had same problem on my 2001 Intrepid. The lights were flashing two at a time, sequentially. I bought another CD-Player over e-bay, and installed it. The new one worked fine. However, about two months later, I decided to open the CD-Player. To my surprise, the problem was just a CD stucked in the mechanism inside. After removing the CD, the player worked fine!! Check it out. You may have same problem. The good thing about my case is that I now have a spare CD player, but it cost me money. tinmanwpk02-16-2009, 10:25 AMIf the last suggestion doesn't work, i.e., you don't have two discs in the same slot, then I believe your cd player is toast. Everything I have read elsewhere indicates that. Your only hope MAY be to disconnect the fuse to the cd player, but that really shouldn't change a thing. Sorry. rwmanz02-22-2009, 03:53 PMThanks for the info. It turned out my 300M CD changer problem was also just two jammed CDs. Was able to fix easily. tinmanwpk02-23-2009, 07:43 AMThanks for the info.
