Alpine Car Cd Player
now. I rarely ever play cd's from the head unit and it has had a cd in it alpine mp3 cd player for at least a year without me ever playing the cd or ejecting the cd. A couple of days ago I wanted to play a cd in it
Alpine Cd Player Clock Set
so I ejected the old cd. The old cd (the same one that has been in the head unit for a year without me touching it) ejected fine. So I go to put the new cd in the head unit and the cd wouldn't "feed" alpine cd player no sound into the player. When I tried forcing the cd into the slot it took a lot of force just to move it an inch into the head unit. So I tried pushing the eject button again to see if it would let me insert the cd and the display read "Error". When I switch sources from the radio to the cd it still would only read Error and still won't let me insert a cd into the Alpine head unit. I do have a 4 year warranty for the cd player alpine cd player wiring harness but I don't want to go through the hassle of pulling it out of my Jeep, finding the box, driving to Best Buy, and waiting to get a new one. If anyone knows any way to fix this problem or knows anything about this problem I would greatly appreciate their help. Well, mine still won't eject when trying that. It appears that the two white locking arms inside won't disengage.Any ideas on how to fix this? I've ripped the headunit out of my car and have taken the top cover off, but I'm not seeing anything obviously broken. I'm out of warranty anyway so I figure no additional risk, they want $95 to repair it. It goes in the mail off to Alpine tomorrow morning if I can't fix it. Being broken and costing me $95 is bad enough, but being without music the rest of the week is what upsets me. Are you getting any error messages on the display?Does this particular CD have a paper label on it? continuum Moderator et Subscriptor Tribus: California Registered: Jul 1, 1999Posts: 79066 Posted: Tue Sep 21, 2004 6:16 pm Ack. I didn't express that properly-- the two white arms are "locked"-- they won't move at all. I removed the top cover and I can see that they should be moving, but they're not.The only error message is "Error". No descriptive code or anything. I hit eject, the face swings down, and it sits there trying to eject for 10-20 seconds, then spits up "error". Hitting eject/holding eject for 5 seconds afterwards will spit up "eject" for a while, then "loading" then "error".The CD is plain, no labels on it. When I power cycle the unit, it loads the CD just fine and plays ok, but hitting eject still results in no ejecting and an error mess
