Check Engine Light On But No Problems
I keep it well maintained. The only problem I know of is a very slight coolant leak that I believe is from a freeze plug on the back side of the block. I have to pull the transmission to repair it so I've just been topping off the coolant level as needed until I get to the repair. Since I've had this leak for a couple what could cause the check engine light to come on of months prior to the check engine light coming on I don't believe the two are connected. I've used my code reader successfully in the past to diagnose and repair a TPS sensor. Are there any known problems for this make and model that would cause the check engine light to come on but not indicate any diagnostic error codes? Any suggestions are appreciated. Share it! An intermittent fault will cause the computer to store a pending code in memory. If the fault does not recur within 40 warm-up cycles, the code will be cleared from memory. If the fault recurs a specific number of times, the code check engine light will then mature into a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and the MIL or “check engine” light will turn on. The ecm could be disabling abs/traction control if there is an engine emission problem.Clearing you codes also cleared all of your readiness test results.Repairing the pending code problem might fix the other problems but you need to reference a service manual.
