Since I had this RL in my shop that had a check engine light AND an ABS light I thought it was a perfect opportunity to put this video together. I get asked all the time about my 'special tool' and it's really nothing more than a Honda 2 pin connector with the input wires soldered together. These connectors might be harder to find than you think but if you run across a junk honda and one of these is on the harness grab it. Even if you

Found out it was the EGR valve. I fixed the EGR valve but the check engine light is now on only when I drive it so I can't check to see what the trouble code it is now because it only comes on whenmy Hondastarts check engine moving. I try to reset the ECU but it didn't work.I unplugged the battery that didn't work either.I need to pass the smog check but I don't know what to do. by marcos 09-15-2013 08:56 PM Answer: You can retrieve your Honda Accord's trouble code(s) yourself by using inserting a jumper wire at thediagnostic connector located in the passenger side kick panel. Insert the jumper wire in the 2 check engine code PIN service connector between pins 1 and 2. You should also see a 3 PINconnecter. This is used for a trouble code scanner. Trouble codes will be stored in the ECU even if the check engine light is not on. Once the jumper is inserted, turn on the ignition key. The trouble code(s) will beginflashingusing thecheck engine light indicator.Begining counting the flashes.Use Trouble Code 23 as a guide.Example:2 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes=Trouble Code 23. If more than one trouble coce exists there will be a long pause in between the codes.
