Joined: Feb 24, 2007 I am building my first pc with an asus p5b-e , intel core2 duo processor e6300 1.86ghz 1066 mhz fsb , and corsair xms twin2x1024a-6400. I can get into my bios and http://lists.apple.com/archives/remote-desktop/2012/Aug/msg00008.html was able flash it with the newest verison which fixed a problem recognising the processor. Now when I try to boot it with the Vista disk to install windows vista I get this error message. " the file is possibly corrupt. the file header checksum does not match the computed checksum " I've removed one strip of memory at a time to check for a bad one. Is this a hardware issue, https://hardforum.com/threads/new-build-checksum-error.1161915/ a compatiblity problem,or could this be a problem with my vista disk? any help to point me in the right direction is appreciated willowisp57, Feb 24, 2007 willowisp57, Feb 24, 2007 #1 Feb 24, 2007 #2 rj2 Limp Gawd Messages: 167 Joined: Jan 13, 2004 is your system oced?. i always run at stock speeds when installing the os,and even bump up the voltages a little. try putting in an xp disc.if you dont get the same error, that vista disc may be the problem. worth a try rj2, Feb 24, 2007 rj2, Feb 24, 2007 #2 Feb 24, 2007 #3 msg1285 Limp Gawd Messages: 243 Joined: Dec 30, 2006 Have you checked your bios to make sure the memory is being seen properly i.e. speed, timing, and voltage. Make a Memtest86 bootable disk and see if you can pass it for a few hours. msg1285, Feb 24, 2007 msg1285, Feb 24, 2007 #3 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
