Master cmos checksum error 2,351 Answers Re: Bios problem in A8N-VM Hi jino284, you're bios has become corrupted. One reason for this can be the cmos battery is no longer holding its 3volt charge. Virus can also cause corruption. Power off the PC & unplug the power cord. Open the case & pull the cmos battery. (Its about the size of a quarter). Check the 3 volt battery with a volt meter. If the battery reads less than 3 volts replace it with a new battery. If the battery checks good than fash the bios. Go to Asus web site & download the Bios - Utilities. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=A8N-VM&SLanguage=en-us Than download the bios file. Instruction on how to flash you're bios. http://www.asisupport.com/bios_page.htm I'm betting the cmos/bios batter needs replaced. Good Luck! Did you tried to change the cmos jumper and reset the bios on 'default value' then restart ?
