#1 Rob Stephens 31 posts Posted 14 January 2014 - 03:04 PM Presently, all my sessions are connected as they should be, but when looking at the logs I see a recurring error: "Error %1 received while obtaining a license for a Citrix XenApp client connection. A grace license has been granted" I am running Server 2012 R2 with XD 7.1. I am licensed for 380 users. citrix xenapp cannot contact license server This error shows even when I RDP into the server. The RDSH license server shows per User licenses are being checked out. GPO controls RDSH settings in the server and set the FQDN of the license server and per use. I ran Get-BrokerSite and it is showing: License edition as PLT (correct) LicenseModel as UserDevice LicensedSessionsActive as 68 (matches current sessions) RDSH is showing 60 licenses in use, but some users use different servers. To me that means they will only have one RDSH license used, but the sessions would be higher since they are using more than one. Any idea what is causing this error and is it something to worry about long term? 1316-346875-1792508 Back to top Peter Brown Citrix Employees #2 Peter Brown 22 posts Posted 07 July 2014 - 03:43 PM The 9026 event is caused when an admin connects to a XD server via ICA or RDP and is benign and can be ignored for admin users. This is a known issue and is addressed in ICATS070WX64007 (CTX140763). Please note that in some situations, the installation of this hotfix can cause various cursor/mouse issues. These issues are to be addressed in a future fix
@en On one of our XenApp server(2008 R2 Fr en XenApp 6), it was not possible to connect by ICA. In the server logs, we found out the following error : Source: MetaFrame Event ID: 9026 Description: Error 0 received while obtaining a license for a XenApp client connection. A grace license has been granted. On the other hand, regarding the grace licence we don't have anything, which would confirm that the server could not accept any ICA connections (the licence server was reachable). Based http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/346875-error-1-received-while-obtaining-a-license/ on that, we direct to our licence server ( (Windows 2003 sp2 Fr et en version 11.6.1 build 10007, uptade to 11.9 scheduled quickly for xenapp 6.5), and then after checking we noticed that the above server did not have the Host licence. While looking at the licence server logs, we found out the following error : Source de l'événement : http://www.ctxblog.fr/2011/10/25/error-0/?lang=en CITRIX_LicenseServer ID de l'événement : 749 Description : (8608) Client/server comm version mismatch (client: 1.3, server: 1.4). The client and server programs are running potentially incompatible versions of FLEXnet comm software. The only solution in our case, was to restart the service " systeme de licence Citrix", in order to have the server benefiting the Host licence. The CTX111775 takes care of the error ID 749, and indicates that this error is not a stopper, in our case since the restart of the service "système de licence Citrix", the error disappeared and the server did obtain a Host licence. There was not any typical correlation between the servers. Citrix software was everything from Presentation Server 4.0 to XenApp 5. Windows operating systems ranged from Windows 2000 Server up to Windows Server 2008. Users would receive one of the following errors: Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server error 0 received (with one of the following statements): Protocol Driver error Transport Driver error The SSL Server you are trying to connect to is not accepting connections The Citrix MetaFrame server you have selected is not accepting connections There is no route to the specified subnet address Looking in the server’s event logs, any number of the following would be logged: The licenses required by this edition of Citrix Presentation Server are not present on the license server LicenseServerName. This computer running Citrix Presentation Server will now stop accepting connections. This server is no longer in or could not enter a licensing grace period.
