The Cluster Service Is Not Running 2012
(which of course uses Majority-node set clustering) in a dev environment...basically the environment that gets all the latest and greatest patches, change testing, etc. I also have a backup environment that's just a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/886717 snapshot of this environment before any change. The last few times that I brought this environment back up after being down for a month or so I've had the same issue where the cluster will not start and logs the errors listed above. In each situation I've had to do the following:1. Verify the file-share witness was online and accessible.2. Bring up one of the cluster nodes and http://www.alexwho.com/blog/2008/10/cluster-service-fails-to-start-with-error-5036-and-event-id-4522-is-logged.html verify that it can access the FSW3. Open a command prompt and run: clussvc.exe /debug /fixquorum4. Open Cluadmin.exe and connect to "."5. Verify I can connect and see the cluster6. Ctrl-C at the command prompt7. Start the cluster serviceHaven't gone deep into figuring out why it's in that state...maybe when I have more time...for now I needed to document the fix I've been using since I racked my brain for a good 30 minutes this last time.-alex Posted at 12:00 AM | Permalink | Reblog (0) Comments You can follow this conversation by subscribing to the comment feed for this post.
