Level 6 (12,499 points) Mar 14, 2010 3:41 AM in response to noeqplease Error -39 is described everywhere as "End of File", which may mean that one of the audio files you are using is corrupted: the data marking the end of the file is missing or has shifted to some earlier point in the file making it impossible to play until the (real) end of file.Save the project under a different name, then start removing audio files from that 'new' version, one by one, until the error disappears. Then try and play the 'guilty' file in another program (iTunes), to confirm that it is corrupted.Hope it helps, regards, Erik. Not recommended at all, work with same file type all the way you should be ok. Friday, September 21 2012 @ 09:43 AM CDT it might be a good idea to check that your disk drive isn't failing. in Finder: Go > Utilities > Disk Utility run Verify Disk Permissions and Verify Disk that probably won't fix the damaged file, but it could warn you that you need to replace your drive... you http://www.macjams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=1;showtopic=261586 do have backups, right? maybe Time Machine would let you retrieve an earlier version of the recording that is not corrupted ʍʌʎǝʞoɯs DARE XMaramena Registered: 11/22/10Posts: 642Location: London, United Kingdom Re:Error Code 39..help please. Friday, September 21 2012 @ 09:53 AM CDT Error Code 39.... *shudder* I got this a couple of years back. My hard drive failed the next day. Lost all my work, and the few tracks that I had copies of I couldn't publish anywhere because if there was any claim on them, I wouldn't have the original project files as proof of originality. Out of interest, is it a western digital drive? I've had too many WDs fail on me to count. I always go with Seagate these days - never had a single issue with them. Sound Card (Realtek AC97) was marked with an exclamation mark and at the device properties, the following error appeared: “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The http://www.wintips.org/how-to-fix-cannot-load-sound-card-device-driver-code-39-or-code-10-error-solved/ driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)”. Error 39 mostly occurs after http://www.icompositions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=7555 the installation of Logitech USB Webcam drivers. The solution below contains step by step instructions on how to resolve “Error Code 39” in your Sound Card. The solution works perfectly in Windows XP OS, but also works in Windows 7 or Windows Vista OS. How to solve Sound code 10 Card Error Code 39 or Code 10. but when pressed the error message just comes back again. Nothing can be done whilst this error message is present. I finally have to 'Force Quit' on GarageBand, but when relaunched, the error message keeps on appearing! What's going wrong? What is the 'core audio driver? Why is this happening? Most importantly, how can I resolve the problem? It's driving me nuts !!!!! Can anyone help - I hope so. Mike Creamer Latest Song: Ballsy Guitar Shuffle No.1 Jan 25, 2005 | 7:07 pm MidiMacMan Contract Terminated Hey Mike.......I guess this shows us that even the "Great" have issues. I remind you that I am no expert here, and I could be telling you something that is wrong, so be careful with my advice. I think that the core audio is the driver in our macs that enables the conversion of audio data possible from digital into analog. I also think that it has a lot to do with midi data and I think that the core audio is the part of the system that helps the midi data to be turned into actual sound, (digital to analog conversion). I often get core audio messages and errors as well, but I think that sometimes it just happens to everyone. Tell me this though to help you better. What kind of periperals and interface are you using? What about your soundcard? And important I have discovered is the memory buss speed. Go look in your system profiler, (apple menu at top left......about this mac.....more info......memory....and then on the far right what does that say?) I was using a combination of different speeds in my G4 Dual 867 Mhz machine. Not so long ago I read something that apple failed to tell me. That is that different combinations of the memory can mess things up. Also try to switch the memory around to different slots. Just move them all around to different slots. I have heard that can help. Hope this helps you out Buddy! Jan 28, 2005 | 1:16 am jbchix Listener Same thing happened to me just last night. I consulted various how-to books I have; the GB "Missing Manual", Jeff Tolbert's e books "Taking Control" series and a class I took on GB from Berklee School of Music online. One of them (and I'm sorry, I don't remember which) made a suggestion that worked for me. This is in GB 2, and you go through and just lock some of your tracks. That takes the burden off of your core audio driver and the RAM it needs, transfers the load to your hard drive. It took a couple of seconds, the tracks played normally and NO ERROR -39! Hope this does the trick like it did for me. Chix Mar 10, 2005 | 6:16 pm Waiting For Godot Artist mikecreamer wro
