I recently installed sound, video and TV tuner cards. The video card is an AOPEN GeForce 6200TC PCI Express 16. This is a learn as you go process for me. Everything is functioning properly for the most part, except for a few minor glitches that I may seek help for later. For now, everything checks out OK on the video card except for the nVidia WDM video capture (universal) for which I get an error message: Code 10 This device can not start. It is said that a wise man is one who know how truly ignorant he is. When it comes to this I am utterly ignorant. How important is the WDM video capture device? Did I miss a conne

OS is win98SE. Every time I try to capture, no matter which capture program I use or which card, I always get an error message that it couldn't detect a capture card, tells me I don't have one, etc. I've done google searches and read that it happens because this device cannot the "nvidia wdm video capture (universal)" driver isn't working, but no matter what I try I can't fix it and get the yellow exclamation to go away. Does anyone know what to do about this? It's driving me absolutely insane. If there's no solution, would I be able to work around this driver issue by getting a USB capture device? Error code 10 is a device start failure. Often this is simply a driver issue, plus this seems like a rather popular error for nVidia cards. First up, make sure you have the latest version of DirectX. DX9 is downloadable at: http://www.microsoft.com/directx Next, download and install the latest 1/9/2003 drivers for your card: http://www.leadtek.com.tw/www/Web_Le...p?pronameid=82 This may also sound stupid, but also try removing any video input cables from your card, then re-boot and try again using analog TV, RCA composite, or 4-pin S-Video. Other types of S-Video connectors with additional pins may plug in, but can fail, thus causing this same error code. Hope this hel
