My Sony VAIO laptop is running Vista. I have 7 updates for my Microsoft Office 2003 that keep failing with the error code 646. Is there a fix for this. It is becoming very annoying. In addition my Google searches don't always work and I get returned to my Google home page. Could these items be related? I have already disabled my fire walls for both Windows and my Trend Micro PCcillin. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all.Paul Post a reply Discussion is locked Flag Permalink You are posting a reply to: Fix for error code 646 The posting of advertisements, profanity, or personal attacks is prohibited. Since I installed Win7, I've been having problems with updates to Office. The batch of Feb 8 2011 security updates today was no different. I found this link Error code "0x80070646," "646," or "1606" when you try to install Office updates and it solved all my issues. I hope this isn't already posted. I tried to search here but things are s l o w (I'm guessing due to the security updates today and questions/issues resulting from them.) I wanted to pay this site back for the help it provided, so rather post a dup than keep it to myself.
