The owners manual packet should contain a small card with a 5 digit number. when the battery is disconnected this code needs to be entered. The radio will display CoDE and you'll have 5 tries before it is locked. Disconnect the battery negative terminal for a minute or so, make sure you leave a door open so the dome light drains any residual charge. Reconnect the battery negative terminal (always disconnect negative first and reconnect negative last). When your head unit displays CoDE enter the 5 digit code on your card. (Note that some of us Honda owners had two different code cards and only one worked). You can always contact your local Honda dealership and ask them to fix it (for a fee). If you don't have your codes or can't find your cards - try this: Quote: Originally Posted by WikiAnswers Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Unlocking Error E on Honda Accord I had the same problem after my battery died and I didn't know what "Code" meant so I just pushed buttons until I got Error E and it locked up. You need to disconnect one battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect, and the radio will say "Code" again. Type in the 5 digit http://www.answers.com/Q/How_do_reset_a_Honda_Accord_radio_that_says_Error_E code found on the Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (a white credit card size card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase). This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state. It worked for me, so I hope that helps. Try this I discovered a very easy and FREE way to fix your radio. Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN! IF you have the VIN#, and are registered with Honda, you can go to their website https://radio-navicode.honda.com/. You will need to enter your VIN#, registered phone number and zip code as well as your radio/nav serial number (retrieval process detailed above). The site walks you through the inputs and if successful, then spits either your radio code or nav code. Veröffentlicht am 12.11.2013Yesterday the battery died in our Honda- and after the hassle of replacing it I thought all was well- until turning on the radio today. No radio- no AM, no FM no Bluetooth Audio- all I got was the mysterious message- "Enter Code." After a silent drive home I researched what had happened and found out that newer Honda radios have a theft-deterrent feature whereby after being disconnected from the battery they "lock up" and won't work again until a security code is entered. My owner's manual told me I should have received this code number with my owner's manual kit. Digging through the pouch I found the credit card sized card with my radio unlock code. Turned out I didn't need it because there is a way with a button to reconnect your radio and make it realize it is "back where it belongs- in your car." Doing the button te

I think it's the most annoying safety feature there is. I'd rather it just got stolen. The dealership has to reset the code and give you a new one. 8 out of 8 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 245 Report Chandler answered 8 years ago u have to read through the owners manual and take the battery terminals off and the reattach after 20 or so minutes then replace and then turn the car on and put the code in again. 4 out of 4 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 125 Report Shawn answered 8 years ago There is a code in the owners manual and it comes on a card the size of a credit card. It is a code that can only be used 5 times and then it automatically needs a new one. if you haven't used it more than 5 times then just enter in the code and it will unlock. If not, then take it to the dealership to get a new code. 10 out of 10 people think this is helpful. Mark helpful 115 Report Chad answered 8 years ago Like the people before me said, its just a code. If you bought it used, there might be a code written on a sticker somewhere in the glove compartment. I have an S2000 and thats where mine was. My car gives you 9 tries to enter the right code before it locks up, at that point you have to disconnect the battery terminals for 60 seconds and try again. I didnt know you needed a new one after 5 times of use, but maybe its different in newer Hondas. 4 out of 4 people think this is helpful.
