The error message says: please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements. Minimum requirements on back of box (Command and Conquer The First Decade) are: OS: Win XP Cpu: 800 Mhz or faster RAM: 256 MB or more which is what i used to have. Disc Drive: 8X or faster DVD-ROM drive. Hard Drive: 9.8 GB if installing all games. Have plenty of space. Video: DirectX 8.1 compatible video card. Sound: DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card. On the side: Hardware transform and lighting capable video card with 32 MB or more memory, and one of these chipsets is required: NVIDIA GeForce 2 or greater; ATI Radeon 7500 or greater.
