combined we do Re:C&C-Generals. Problems installing « Reply #3 on: September 04, 2003, 09:30:40 am » Are you the same person that I replied to on the Generals board ?If not, I try the following:1) Make sure the cd is clean.2) Try the cd in another drive if you can.3) On your hard drive, find the file that is referenced in the error message. Right-click the file in the Search Results windows, and then choose Properties. Clear the checkmark from Read-only under the Attributes section. Click OK4) If you have any, try uninstalling any cd copy programs you might have. If that solves the issue, make sure you've updated that software till the latest version. Oktober 2003 14:00 Hi!

Hi guys, I really need some help - my brother just bought this game http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread.php/34138-Command-and-Conquer-Generals-installation-problem for me and I am desperate to try it! But when I try to install the game I get an error message as follows: Error 1305. Error reading from file D:\program files\Deep Silver\Sacred 2 - Fallen Angel\pak\sector01.zip. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. This error comes up about 10% into the installation process. D: is my DVD drive. When I go in and check command and the files are all there as required but just won't install. If I can't get this fixed I'll have to get my brother to return the game for a refund. How frustrating! Thanks! If it's Vista, are you running as administrator and if not, if you command and conquer do run it as administrator does that change anything? If you have the latest OS versions (SP 1 for Vista or SP 3 for XP; if not get them) can you copy all the files off the DVD drive onto your hard drive and try installing it from there. Ensure that there are many free gigabytes of free space before doing this. Game is about 20 gigs by itself and swap space will be required so probably a minimum of 40-50 gigs should be free. Could it be a faulty disc?? Or is it more likely my DVD drive? I've never had an issue with it before and play Sacred on it all the time... Tracey Edited to add: OK so I tried to manually copy over some of the files - and I can copy over other files in the pak directory, but when I try to copy over sector01.zip I get "

I found it today after a few years and i'm still getting the same message but i thought one of you guys might know what to do. I'm getting this message: Error 1305.Error reading from file C:\program files\EA games\Command and Conquer general\speechenglish.big. Then it says Verify the file exists and that you access it. So do you know whats wrong? and how to fix it. That message means that your computer cannot read the file 'speechenglish.big' from the CD. (which is the result of scratches) If your are on a normal limited XP account, or are the Administrator, then i'm afraid you need to purchase another copy of the game... or you could try cleaning the disc thouroughly although I assume you've already tried this. >.< Reply With Quote Quick Navigation PC Gaming Top Site Areas Settings Private Messages Subscriptions Who's Online Search Forums Forums Home Forums Welcome to the PSU forums Forum Rules, Help & Feedback Infractions & Bans Announcements PlayStation Chat PlayStation 4 PlayStation 4 Communities PlayStation VR Official Game Threads PlayStation 3 and Legacy Consoles PlayStation Vita PlayStation Network General Gaming Forums General Gaming Nintendo PC Gaming Xbox General Discussion Off-Top
