Error 1142 (42000)
down vote favorite 3 I'm having troubles with a certain query on one of my servers. On all other places I've tested it it works completely fine but on the server i want to use it it isn't working. It's about the following SQL: SELECT facturen.id AS fid, projecten.id AS pid, titel, facturen.totaal_bedrag AS totaal, betaald, datum FROM facturen, projecten WHERE facturen.project_id = projecten.id AND projecten.eigenaar = '1' ORDER BY select command denied to user 'root'@'localhost' for table 'user' datum DESC This is the error code I get from it: SELECT command denied to user 'marco'@'localhost' for table 'projecten' The tables: facturen: CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `facturen` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `project_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `datum` int(11) NOT NULL, `lever_datum` int(11) NOT NULL, `totaal_bedrag` decimal(9,2) NOT NULL, `btw` decimal(9,2) NOT NULL, `bedrijf` varchar(40) NOT NULL, `contactpersoon` varchar(60) NOT NULL, `adres` varchar(60) NOT NULL, `postcode` varchar(7) NOT NULL, `plaats` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `betaald` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=201200006 ; projecten: CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `projecten` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `titel` varchar(80) NOT NULL, `eigenaar` int(11) NOT NULL, `creatie_datum` int(11) NOT NULL, `eind_datum` int(11) NOT NULL, `totaal_bedrag` decimal(9,2) NOT NULL, `btw` decimal(9,2) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=201200004 ; The strange part is that every other query on both the 'projecten' table and the 'facturen' table works completely fine, also this query works fine on two other servers of mine. mysql select command denied share|improve this question edited Jun 8 '12 at 21:30 asked Jun 8 '12 at 21:22 Seph 1371111 what is bt2 in bt2.projecten ? –Raphaël Althaus Jun 8 '12 at 21:25 privilege problem? –khaled_we

Now I'm trying to make a dump of a remote database via the "Data Export" feature, which has always worked. But, as soon as I click the "Start Export" button, I get this error: Unhandled exception: Error querying security information: Error executing 'SELECT * FROM http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34521822/mysql-workbench-error-1142-error-querying-security-information-on-data-export mysql.user WHERE user = '[username]' and Host = '[host]' ORDER BY User, Host' SELECT command denied to user '[username]'@'[host]' for table 'user' SQL Error: 1142 I know that I don't have the permissions to read that table, but why is that needed to perform a data export? I've tried to check the force option (Continue even if we get an sql-error) but it's still not working. Is this a Workbench bug? Or is there any way to avoid this query? mysql-workbench share|improve this question asked Dec 30 '15 at 1:48 the_nuts 1,5551028 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 14 down vote accepted Update as of 13th June 2016 This bug has now been fixed Download 6.3.7 (or later if available) from here share|improve this answer edited Jul 5 at 12:53 answered Jul 1 at 18:02 Darren Sweeney 6,6881755108 When I download mysql-workbench-community-6.3.7-1ubu1604-amd64.deb, I get an error in Ubuntu Software Center saying "Dependency is not satisfiable: libatkmm-1.6-1v5 (>=2.24.0). How can I grant the privilege then? Also I was able to do INSERT in MySQL Workbench. How to explain this? Thanks. 0 LVL 16 Overall: Level 16 .NET Programming 7 ASP.NET 7 MySQL Se
