Gepubliceerd op 4 apr. 2013I was getting an error message that said "Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts". Cleaning the lens contacts didn't work on its own. But when I followed the steps I demonstrate in the video it began to function normally again. Canon Communication Error Mac
May 12, 2011 So while I was shooting this past Saturday, I had this error:"Err 01 Communications between the nikon camera lens error camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts."pop up on my camera. At the time, I had my Canon 17-55 lens on my 7D. I then tried the lens on my 60D. Same https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9qwrWbS0d0 thing.I've done a little googleing... and many people have suggested trying to manually clean the lens contacts. However, the most recent post I found on this was a few years old. Can anyone give me feedback/tips/advice on trying this method?Or, is it better to send it to Canon (or a local camera shop) to have it repaired. How much would it cost to repair the https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3001649 lens? Thanks! (both 7D and 60D) In reply to jordy2324 • May 12, 2011 same issues, same thing on 450d and 60d. I have cleaned the contacts but still is happening. I think it could be due to moisture where you shoot. Turn it off, then try again. Sometimes it works for a number of shots, then is happening again.not sure if polishing the contact would be the permanent solution ... the contact could be oxidised by the water vapour perhaps ? just a guess though .sorry cannot help you more than this ...cheersjordy2324 wrote:So while I was shooting this past Saturday, I had this error:"Err 01 Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Its brand new, and after the first few shots, I started to get this message... any idea?Have you tried cleaning the bottom of your 17-55? It seems like a straightforward issue and if cleaning the bottom off your lens doesn't work then there seems to be an issue with the lens itself seeing as all your lenses work correctly.Nick S.|5D Classic|Nifty 50 |35L|FlickrLOG IN TO REPLY FiddlefingersFiddlefingersMember195 postsJoined Dec 2008ScotlandMore infoDec 30, 2010 17:22|#3I had that message once when I was twisting round trying to keep a flying bird in focus.
