Published on Jul 31, 2013Using https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/307410 Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taeQkJ5THvQ via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in one of my 5 laptops , i got the same error ,Firstly pressing alt +F11 opens up the visual basic editor which shows the module which the developer has coded for the excel workbook to work and generate the XML ,Since clicking the XML throws up this error , it can be presumed that the OS with which it does has some compatibility issue ,next would be be to download a patch which enhances XML generation across such bugging operating systems ,So ,being a developer i understood , that the solution then lies in enhancing the XML capacity of the OS and so my search on googl
WHEN I OPEN WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT THE FOLLOWING WINDOW APPEARS: MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC COMPILE ERROR IN HIDDEN MODULE: AUTO EXEC HOW DO I GET RID OF http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/compile-error-in-hidden-module-auto-exec.879458/ THIS? THANKS, THE "USER" WHO ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILTY FOR ALL THAT GOES WRONG WITH http://producthelp.sdl.com/kb/Articles/3876.html MY COMPUTER. -- drod Guest, Jul 4, 2004 #1 Advertisements Pat Garard Guest G'Day DROD, 1. Please do not type in ALL CAPS - we consider that to be "SHOUTING". 2. You have probably just added some type of "Global Office Template". This is something that you may have created yourself, compile error or it may be some "Add-In" that you have downloaded or purchased. The message is telling you that this "Add-In" has a problem. 3. Since it affects Word, Excel and Powerpoint, it is, by the sound of it, an "Office" AddIn. -- Regards, Pat Garard Australia ______________________________________ Pat Garard, Jul 4, 2004 #2 Advertisements Graham Mayor Guest No need to SHOUT! You have an compile error in add-in in the Office start-up folder that is probably intended for an earlier version of Word. The startup folder will be located according to Office version, but is likely to be either: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE\STARTUP Locate and remove or update the add-in -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> drod wrote: > HELP! > WHEN I OPEN WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT THE FOLLOWING WINDOW APPEARS: > > MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC > > COMPILE ERROR IN HIDDEN MODULE: AUTO EXEC > > HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS? > THANKS, THE "USER" WHO ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILTY FOR ALL THAT GOES WRONG > WITH MY COMPUTER. error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application. Click "Help" for information on how to correct this error. If you click OK, you get another warning: Microsoft Word The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings. The only way to close the warning message and exit Microsoft Word is through the Task Manager. Explanation This problem occurs because the SDL Trados 2007 installation is missing, but TRADOS8.dot(m) still exists in the Microsoft Word startup folder. Whenyou start Microsoft Word, the SDL Trados template tries to load the relevant components. This fails if SDL Trados 2007 is not installed and results in the warning messages described above. Resolution Solution 1 Install SDL Trados 2007. You can download the installation file from your My Account area. Solution 2 Remove/delete TRADOS8.dot(m) from your Microsoft Word startup folder, by default located here: Windows XP: C:\DocumentsandSettings\[USERNAME]\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP Note The problem described in this article can also be related to other root causes: 1858: Troubleshooting compile errors when starting up and closing Microsoft Word 3016: Resolving connection errors after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP1 and working with SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP1 and SDL Trados 2007 Suite 3147: Resolving connection errors after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP2 and working with SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP2 and SDL Trados 2007 Suite 3420: Various error messages after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP3 (+ Cumulative Update 8/9) 3588: Various error messages after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP4 Refer to KB article #3924 for an overview of all Microsoft Word template-related KB articles.
