Reason MathType includes an add-in for Microsoft Word compile error in which adds the MathType menu and toolbar/ribbon to Microsoft Word. This add-in contains macros written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), the macro language used by Microsoft Word. The add-in is placed in Microsoft Word's designated Startup folder. AutoExec is the macro that Microsoft Word automatically executes when launching. MTLib is a library of MathType macros used by the toolbar/tab and MathType menu in Microsoft Word. If there is a problem with your computer's VBA environment, when you launch Microsoft Word, you may receive error messages. Solution To correct this problem, you need to make sure that Microsoft Office components upon which the MathType Commands for Word rely are functioning correctly. You should follow the instructions that we provide for resolving issues using the MathType Commands for Microsoft Word. MathPlayer Support MathDaisy Support WebEQ Support Support > MathType Support > Technical Support Notices TechNote #135: Last modified: 11/19/2015 Microsoft Word: AutoExecCLS Error The information in this document applies to: MathType 6.x (Windows) Microsoft Word 2003 and later Issue: When starting Microsoft Word, there are occasions where the following error message will be displayed: "MathType has detected an error in AutoExecCLS. Error running cmd=NoDirectCall_Main mod=AutoExecCLS in RunMTDLL Command: Method 'Path' of object 'Addin' failed. Please save your document and report this to Design Science Technical Support." Reason: If Microsoft Word was running when your computer was restarted after a Microsoft Auto-update, this error can occasionally present itself the next time you start Word. For more information see the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541. The error message indicates a problem with the Microsoft Word Toolbar/Ribbon. Below are instructions for resetting the Word Toolbar/Ribbon. Solution: Use the following instructions to "reset" the Word Toolbar/Ribbon. Exit all Office programs. Click Start Type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\xx.0\Word\Data (Where "xx" corresponds to your version of Office) Click Data, and then click Export on the File menu. Name the file Wddata.reg, and then save the file to the desktop. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart Word. If Word starts and works correctly, you have resolved the problem. The problem was a damaged Word Data registry key. You may have to change several settings to restore your favorite options in Word. You can now delete the exported key saved on the Desktop from item 7 above. Copyright © 1996-2016 Design Science. All rights reserved.|Privacy statement
