I keep getting a "compiler file error, build cancelled" when I try and burn. When I simulate it plays fine in DVD Studio Pro4. Any advice on how to trouble shoot what is wrong? I've used compressor to export my files from final cut 6.0.6. In compressor I choose DVD best quality 90 minutes , mpeg2 and AC3 audio. I am working on a Mac OS x 10.7.4, intel core i5.Any advice? Thank you! If the m2v and AC3 files that were output from Compressor will play (separately) in Quick Time Player, it would indicate the problem doesn't lie with Compressor and would point to DVDSP - possibly a corrupt preference. If you don't have it, download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager .It will find all the relevant preference files and safely trash them. Then try the build process again.Good luck.Russ Posted on Aug 6, 2012 5:09 AM See the answer in context Close Q: My DVD wont burn? Bypass the menus (delete the menu in the graphical tab to save time). See if it will build in the new project.Russ Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by Rachael Levine, Rachael Levine Aug 5, 2012 7:53 PM in response to Russ H Level 1 (15 points) Aug 5, 2012 7:53

When building your DVD Studio Pro projects, do you ever get this error message? The best way to deal with this situation, is to simply delete your preferences. We do this by going through the https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4180570?start=0&tstart=0 Finder > User > Library > Preferences > com.apple.dvdstudiopro.plist and putting it into the trash. Empty the trash and restart. It is important to remember to write down your preferences or back them up before trashing them. That way anything specific you might have changed for your particular project will still be available. No one can say exactly why http://www.geniusdv.com/news_and_tutorials/2009/06/compiler_error_message_in_dvd_studio_pro.php this error message happens; it could be any number of things from encoding to destination settings. But trashing the preferences seems to do the trick. In some cases others have had to reinstall the software. PRINT • NEXT >> • COMPILER FILE ERROR/DVD Studio Pro by Thom Sullivan on Sep 21, 2006 at 4:06:23 pm Recent attempts compiler file to burn a project to DVD through DVD Studio Pro have failed on the 2 laptops we work with. A COMPILER FILE ERROR prompt appears after going through the compiler file error process of setting up a project to be burned to a DVD. All settings have been doubled-checked and everything seems to be "good to go." A burn of the project on a third Apple Laptop with the same programs proved successful...all settings etc. are the same on all 3 units. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
