However I have since been busy https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/195738 on VS2008 and recently returned to VS2010 and so has the ICE problem. Using the same simplified solution as before I am now getting internal compiler errors in the C++ compiler. Several lines of code are causing the ICE problem:- _managedObject = gcnew MessageBoxShower(gcnew System::String(message.c_str())); AND if (String::IsNullOrEmpty(orig)) return ""; AND _managedObject->Show( gcnew System::String( message.c_str()) ); All these lines give an error C1001:An internal error has occured in the compiler. This soution https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/644532/internal-compiler-error-c1001-using-c-cli-on-vs2010 compiles OK in VS2008. The only significant change, since this problem was fixed by the SP1 beta, was a removal and reinstall of VS2008 due to a crash in VS2008 while adding toolbox items - this was caused by the WPF toolkit addin. That problem is fixed but I don't know whether the uninstall of VS2008 may have affected the VS2010 installation so I have removed and re-installed the VS2010 SP1 beta but still have this issue. Submit Posted by Spademeister on 2/18/2011 at 12:45 AM Brilliant, Thanks the VS2008 Hotfix has solved all the ICE problems.I didn't realise it targetted the 2008 compiler I thought the VS2010 SP1 beta had solved the issue before. Thanks again. Posted by Microsoft on 2/17/2011 at 12:31 PM Apologies - you will also need to install KB 976656 on top of VS 2008 SP1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976656.Thanks!Andy RichVisual C++ QA Posted by Microsoft on 2/17/2011 at 10:49 AM Hi -The project you

I commented this line and got the same error but for the next include file. To sum this up: the compiler error occurs for each #include directive that refers to the common project headers. c++ include visual-studio-6 internal-compiler-error share|improve this question edited Jul 18 '13 at 12:54 asked Jul 3 '13 at 15:23 Sergey Podobry 5,0131935 I appreciate that you probably struggled for a long time to figure this out. But if you are going to ask a question for the specific purpose of answering it yourself, I'd like to see quite a bit more detail, especially in the question. -1 until then. –John Dibling Jul 3 '13 at 15:26 Also voting to close on its own merits as being unclear.
