Vxvm Vxdctl Error V-5-1-307 Vxconfigd Is Not Running, Cannot Enable
vxprint can not get status of this DG. but the volumes are mounted and applications vxconfigd restart running fine. Google says this situation can happen when every disk in a disk group is lost from a bad power supply, power turned off to the disk array, cable disconnected, etc. or maybe a BCV disk was accidently masked to application host. i am not sure. # vxdg list NAME STATE ID https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000017050 aaa_PRD disabled 1234180811.61.server02a # vxdisk list -o alldgs EMC1_23 auto:cdsdisk emc057B aaa_PRD online dgdisabled EMC1_24 auto:cdsdisk emc057A aaa_PRD error EMC1_24 auto:cdsdisk - (aaa_PRD) error EMC1_25 auto:cdsdisk emc0579 aaa_PRD online dgdisabled EMC1_26 auto:cdsdisk emc0578 aaa_PRD online dgdisabled In order to fix the aaa_PRD in http://www.andyhan.net/index.php/sys-adm/item/186-disk-group-disabled-volume-still-accessable disabled status, I need to deport and import the disk group.but there are 2 EMC1_24 here.from vxdisk list EMC1_24, I can see: # vxdisk list EMC1_24 Device: EMC1_24 devicetag: EMC1_24 type: auto info: format=cdsdisk,privoffset=256,pubslice=3,privslice=3 flags: online error private autoconfig imported errno: Internal configuration daemon error Multipathing information: numpaths: 2 sdai state=enabled sdbw state=enabledafter deport the DG, I still can see 2 EMC1_24, i am afraid direct import it back may corrupt data on the volume. EMC1_24 auto:cdsdisk - (aaa_PRD) online EMC1_24 auto:cdsdisk - - errorvxdctl enable and symcfg disco didn't help.Andy Li helped me find a solution "/sbin/vxconfigd -k -r reset"After this DG imported ok and all the data are ok.
