Because Of A Security Error The Client Could Not Connect To The Remote Computer 2008
I have had this problem myself I imagine the TS License CALs are PER-DEVICE and that the client is windows 7 or possibly winxp RDP7 Client. On a connection to a terminal server (Application Mode)(non console session) you get the error 2056. Rename the following key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing to MSLicensing_ create the following folder structure on desktop Code: RDPFIX
| mstsc.exe
| mstscax.dll
|
en-US
|mstsc.exe.mui
|mstscax.dll.mui these files are copied from system32 and system32\en-US folders. set rdpfix\mstsc.exe to xpsp3 compatibility and connect to terminal server (ensure not a console session) You will be able to login and now the MSLicensing registry key will be recreated correctly. (if it is correctly recreated there will be sub keys under MSLicensing) the reason for copying the files is you cannot run files in system32 in compatibility mode. hope this helps I will be logging a call with ms and update in due course. before but I'm doing this in another lab environment . Non-Domain computers (Outside) trying to RDP in via the Gateway (Domain-Internal is working). Certs aren't an issue as they're http://forum.visionapp.de/showthread.php?tid=3114 installed, I've tried it multiple ways, but for now I'm using the self signed generated via the RD Gateway manager. I can go to https://rdgatewayurl/rpc and authenticate and get a blank page (external and internal). New Domain, 2k8R2 Functional Level, no real GP customization at all, except not requiring NLA and enabling RDP on the internal "servers" in a https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/3842a844-46c4-4943-9cc7-a88bcfa9119a/remote-desktop-gateway-cant-connect-from-rdp-80-server-2012?forum=winserverTS specific OU. My Account has Admin privileges on all the servers in question. Another stupid question: This should also work with just the RD Gateway role installed, right? I've tried it both ways with no luck. RD Gateway is logging Event 4625 in the Security Log. I feel like this should be obvious but my brain is fried. An account failed to log on. I get the following error message "The system could not log on, because to log on to this remote console session you must have administrative permissions on this computer"? webmaster 2015-01-15T12:46:35+00:00 Why when I try to log in onto a Windows 2003 server as a regular user I get the following error message "The system could not log on, because to log on to this remote console session you must have administrative permissions on this computer"? This happens if the "Connect to console" check box in the server settings in Xtralogic RDC is ticked off (on Windows 2003 it is the same as /console option with mstsc) and an administrator user is already logged in on the server console. Before a regular user will be able to log in on the console, the administrator user needs to log off from the console.
