Code 8 on MS Outlook Posted by: Lucy John Follow me: @Lucyy_John “Hi, every time I try opening my Outlook mail account, I receive error code 8 message that says there is a problem with Proxy server’s security certificate. I even updated http://www.yodot.com/outlook-pst-repair/repair-outlook-error-code-8.html security certificate again, but error didn’t fade away. Can anyone suggest me how to repair Outlook error code 8? Please help; many thanks in advance.” Outlook is the amazing email client for most of the corporate https://www.cibengineering.com/blog/problem-proxy-servers-certificate/ and home computer users. Outlook simplifies the usage of mail accounts on desktop with excellent features for easy access and organizing mail attributes. However, while using Outlook in offline mode users face number of troubles and connect to error messages that blocks access to mail data. One such error in Outlook is error code 8 - security certificate issue. “There is a problem with the proxy server’s security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server xxx.xxxxxxxx.com (error code 8)” Above error message gets displayed on trying to access Outlook due to below mentioned reasons: When security certificate proxy server error of Exchange Server is not purchased from trusted certificated authority If security certificate is not published on local system under “trusted root certificate authorities” Nevertheless, when security certificate is self-assigned or not added in Trusted Root certificate authorities, then one can fix this error by following any of these methods after closing Outlook: Publish the security certificate on local computer and trust it If it is already installed on computer and not found in Trusted Root certificate authorities, click on View certificate option from error message dialogue box and click on Install certificate button Unfortunately, if these methods don’t work and error code still persists or if the PST file gets corrupt during the process, then only way to save PST file data is to use Yodot Outlook PST Repair tool. Outlook error code 8 repair tool: Yodot Outlook PST Repair is the most recommended software for fixing various Outlook error 8 and other error codes on Windows computers. This effective program has ability to fix corrupted or damaged PST files that do not open in Outlook. Its read-only repair modules and simple user interface eases the work of repairing data files i.e. PST and OST files that are corrupt due to oversize, abrupt Outlook termination, virus infection and other possible reasons. It can e
Creation Services (MCS) can spin up new non persistent virtual machines, and users are brokered as they should be. Heck, even the FIPS NetScalers are properly load balancing traffic, offloading SSL, and smart card authentication works from the zero/thin clients all the way through to the auto launched Windows 7 virtual machines. Citrix profile management has been tightly integrated into active directory instead of using the local Citrix policy engine. We are still working out the bugs (thanks McAffee). The only real pending issue is the random Outlook Proxy servers certificate error that happens when users launch Microsoft Outlook. Here is the actual error: Outlook: there is a problem with the proxy servers certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server mail.server.com (Error Code 80000000). The above error is interesting because there does not seem to be any real way of controlling the proxy server by using GPO. These settings are passed down to the client from the exchange servers, which are hosted by a different provider. When we asked for assistance troubleshooting the issue, we received the expected answer. "Its probably an issue with your build, we are not experiencing this issue anywhere else." And that was it… Now, since the issue happens randomly on persistent and non persistent Windows 7 and Windows 8 virtual machines (and tablets), we had to just sit at the console and log off/on until the error presented itself. And… After many attempts, here is what we found: This is ideally not the most elegant solution to correct the above outlook proxy error, but it works every time. To correct the issue, simply navigate to the following registry key before opening outlook and delete everything under it. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\ and delete everything under outlook. Then launch Outlook. After deleting the above keys and launching outlook, the issue goes away until the computer, tablet, or VM is rebooted. The question obviously still remains "why is this happening", and there is still more work to be
