my machine with IIS7, i am getting the following error. But Ican consume the WCF service from Visual Studio. The error is popped up during addidng the Service the remote server returned an error (415) unsupported media type. in c# Reference to the Project. Is there anything need to be added to the Mime Types in IIS? Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://192.168.0.15:85/SampleApplication/MediaService.svc?wsdl'. The WSDL document contains links that could not be resolved.There was an error downloading 'http://192.168.0.15:85/SampleApplication/MediaService.svc?xsd=xsd0'. The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. Unable to read data webhttpbinding from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. Next question.Are you using a REST service? Please post the binding config of our service and client. There might be a mismatch between the bindings.Please mark the response as answers if it solves your question or vote as helpful if you find it helpful

So, under HTTP, we can make a POST request sending and receiving JSON without issue. When we try the same under HTTPS we got the error that the service is expecting text/xml insteas of application/json. Any suggestion on where to look? The server is using a self signed certificate if that matters. This service have a post method called "login" which takes a json object as cannot process the input and returns a json object as output as well. When I call this method in localhost it works fine. But when I published it and called this method got content type error. I have a webservice library and a webservice site. Web service site does nothing but just calling the service library.
