database from a template in Access 2007, the error message is: "Template 'students.accdt' could not be instantiated. The Table 'Students' could not be read from the template file. http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/template-could-not-be-instantiated-access-2007.3201003/ The object may be in an unrecognized format or contain invalid data." Every database http://www.office-forums.com/threads/access-2007-template-problem-template-could-not-be-instantiated.360219/ template leads to the same error (except for the name of the database) whether I download from Microsoft or use a local template. My Office version is "Office Enterprise 2007" which I received due to my employer's licensing agreement. My OS is Windows Media Edition with all the latest updates installed. I ran the Office could not Diagnostic tool, uninstalled and reinstalled Access (including disabling my virus protection during the install). Does anyone have a suggestion on possible solution? Guest, Aug 17, 2007 #1 Advertisements Guest Guest Humble, we saw some of these types of errors with customers who started on the beta and later installed the RTM version on the same computer (without first formatting the drive and reinstalling Windows). You should only be getting could not be this error if you are trying to create old pre-release template files or files which are not a valid template file format. Did you know it is possible for you to have templates installed on your machine which are not a part of the basic Office install? Would you try something for me? Download this template file from here (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC012253551033.aspx) and then double click the .accdt to create the database. Do you still get the same error? Thanks! -Zac. "HumbleOpinion" wrote: > When I try to create a new database from a template in Access 2007, the error > message is: > > "Template 'students.accdt' could not be instantiated. 16, 2007. Davej100 Guest We are moving up to Office 2007 and have rolled it out to a handful of PC's so far and already we are having problems. When I try to open any local template or online template I get a message saying "Template xxxx.accdt" could not be instantiated - The table xxx could not be read from the template file. The object may be in an unrecognized format or contain invalid data" Two days ago I opened one of the local templates fine. Today I get this error. I tried uninstalling Office and re-installing but it made no difference. A colleague of mine who has never used a template before on his installation is having the same problem. Any help would be appreciated. Dave Davej100, Nov 16, 2007 #1 Advertisements Show Ignored Content Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question?
