MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.3) Posted on Jun 15, 2008 8:39 PM I have this question too by RodneyW,Solvedanswer RodneyW Level 4 (3,030 points) A: For whatever reason, it looks as though your Carbon library is not working.I suggest that your download the [OSX Combo Update for 10.5.3|http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1053comboupdate.html] and see if that provides satisfaction. After downloading, reboot into "safe mode" to do the installation. Don't run any applications whilst the update is proceeding. If that doesn't work, you may be up for an Archive & Install.Regardless, make sure that you have a current back up before you do anything. G4, 733 mhz PPC, 1.12 GM SDRAM, Tiger 10.4.9, PT LE 6.9.2, upgraded from PT LE 6.9 MBox I get this error when I try to start Pro Tools LE 6.9.2: The application "Pro Tools LE 6.9.2" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "4" I followed the instructions in the Answerbase (http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=54&langid=100&itemid=20601) to uninstall both the full version and the update. The Answerbase says: "go to the Macintosh HD/Users/"Your Account Name"/Library/Preferences, and trash the Pro Tools Preferences, the Digisetup.OSX file, and the DAE Prefs Folder. Then reinstall Pro Tools," but I could not find the above files. PT had been working fine before I decided to reinstall os X, I used the combo pack as the site recommends when reinstalled Tiger. I don't think I can handle reinstalling the OS again. PT was working yesterday when I installed it, but this morning I gotthe error again. I have not used Software Update since I got it working last night. I had put it to sleep after I had shut down protools. I don't know if that could have caused the problem. Here are my questions: Where are these files that I am supposed to delete, and if I can;t find them, is it because the Answerbase answer is for an older version? What should I do? What caused the error to show up again? Thanks DigiTechSupt04-24-2007, 08:04 AMIt's strange that those files wouldn't have been there. Did you create a new Admin account? If so, that could explain it. Pro Tools creates those files when you first launch it. As for what's happening currently - another mystery. It sounds like you did everything correctly. I would try the uninstall/reinstall of Pro Tools again, this time restart the computer after the uninstall, repair permissions, then reinstall Pro Tools. Hopefully that will clear it up. digimutt04-24-2007, 08:10 AMI did create a new admin account. When I reinstalled OS X the first time, I did
