I have problem with login to KDE.This is the errors:bash-4.0# cat /home/stibi/.xsession-errors open(fonts.scale): Too many levels of symbolic links startkde: Starting up... EOF in dbus-launch reading address from bus daemon startkde: Could not start D-Bus. Can you call qdbus? When i login as root, all is ok, but as normal user i can`t login. Executing "qdbus" return this:[stibi@hapecko root]$ qdbus Could not connect to D-Bus server: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.I really dont know what about this. Please give me a little help. Thanks. Offline #2 2009-08-21 17:22:04 SpeedVin Member From: Poland Registered: 2009-04-29 Posts: 955 Re: Problem with KDE, not start D-Bus stibi wrote:Hello. Also affects distribution/package Nominate for series Bug Description I downloaded a round of updates using Muon in Kubuntu Trusty, on April 8, 2014, with a large number of KDE-related packages. When I logged out, and attempted to log back in, I can no longer get a KDE desktop. Instead, I get a window with the message "Could not start d-bus. Can you call qdbus?", and when I click "OK", I get returned to the login manager. I use KDM which starts and allows me to login, then splash shows, icons animate and could not thats end... Nothing more happens. In /var/log/kdm.log i found this: Code: klauncher(2434) kdemain: no Dbus session-bus found. Check if you have started the DBUS server. kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting! kdmgreet(2393) (K*TimeZone*): kSystemTimeZones: ktimezoned initialize() D-Bus call failed: "Not connected to D-Bus server" Im pretty sure both consolekit and dbus are started up. I think i could not connect checked and tried everything, even downgrading nvidia-drivers to 260 as someone here reported to helped - w/o any success. Do you have any ideas?_________________Asio Software Technologies Belliash IT WeblogLast edited by Belliash on Thu May 05, 2011 9:04 am; edited 1 time in total Back to top LetharionVeteranJoined: 13 Jun 2005Posts: 1284Location: Sweden Posted: Sun May 01, 2011 2:11 pm Post subject: Start up, get to KDM, restart dbus from terminal 1, check logs for errors, try to log in again?
