For one of the users in the machine i am facing a problem in creating a certificate . I am new to this tool. I was playing with the tool to learn what it is doing . While, doing this i some how created a certificate and not able to delete the certificate . When tried to delete , it gives no public key error found . I some how made the certificate to disappear . But i am still not able to create the new pair for this user which is urgently needed . if i try creating the certificate for a different user it is working fine . For this user it is giving the error "Could not create a certificate . General error " . I am not sure what is missing for this user or changed the settings for this user . But please help me in creating a certificate . Comment 1 Brent 2012-04-18 18:33:40 UTC I too had a problem while importing a secret key. It did not successfully import the public portion. I cannot delete the key and re-importing does not fix the issue. Upon delete I get the error message: OpenPGP backend: No public key On another computer, the secret key imports successfully and allows me to remove. In addition, other keys on the problem computer can be deleted. Comment 2 Emanuel Schütze 2013-05-08 14:22:10 UTC screenshot looks like windows desktop (not CE) -> gpg4win. Should be fixed with current Kleopatra version (KDE 4.10.3) from next coming gpg4win package which should be release in next days. Please test and reopen if you get the same error. Before I use this operation, I created a gpg key by using following commands. sudo -s gpg --gen-key After that, I logged in regular user. Thus, I hadn't the permissions to write ~/.gnupg/*.gpg (it's owner is root) files. The solution: I modified it's permission by using following commands so that I created gpg key successfully. sudo -s chown xxx ~/.gnupg/*.gpg share|improve this answer edited Apr 24 '14 at 11:02 Oli♦ 171k54433643 answered Apr 24 '14 at 10:24 xiaodongjie 2,1201733 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
